'Window closing' as search expands for missing in California mudslide

(Reuters) - Rescue crews expanded their search on Friday for at least five people missing after deadly mudslides in southern California that killed at least 17 people, caked highways with sludge and damaged hundreds of buildings. About 1,250 emergency workers used drones in the air, heavy equipment on the ground and sniffer dogs in the rescue and clean-up efforts, the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services said.
