Robots’ evolution will mean more C-3PO and less R2-D2

Robots abound at the CES 2018 tech extravaganza underway in Las Vegas, and most of the devices that perform useful work were short, stocky and on wheels. But you can expect that to change in the next decade.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the robots that inhabit our homes will be more humanoid and more deft: They won’t be (or look like) vacuums — they’ll run the vacuum.

“Eventually, we should go home and there should be a robot that’s already prepared dinner and folded our laundry,”…...
