GM's Cruise plans for self-driving car without steering wheel by 2019

San Francisco-based Cruise says it is on track to have the next level of self-driving cars on the road in 2019.

Its fourth generation vehicle that’s ready for production, the Cruise AV, would not have a steering wheel or accelerator and brake pedals. Cruise touts it as “the first production-ready vehicle built from the start to operate safely on its own, with no driver, steering wheel, pedals or manual controls.”
